A DOUBLE-ACTION, SEMI-AUTOMATIC
REVOLVING CYLINDER WEAPON
In pistol application it is capable of firing .38
DARDICK Special ammunition, or, by means of
reusable adapters, it can also fire conventional
.38 caliber or 9 mm. ammunition, including .38
Special Wad-Cutter, .38 Super-Automatic, .38
S&W, etc. Through the use of a quick-change
barrel and an instant adjustment of the firing
pin to rim-fire position, the DARDICK gun will
fire conventional .22 ammunition including
Short, Long, Long Rifle and WRF without any
other change. Reciprocating parts such as
breech bolts, rammers, slides, etc., are elimi-
nated; loading and ejection call for lateral
motion only.
A unique triangular cartridge case section con-
tributes to the workability of the open-chamber
system used in the DARDICK handgun. It pro-
vides highly efficient stacking of ammunition,
and is made of aluminum. A conventional pro-
jectile is carried in an aluminum sleeve which is
telescoped into the cartridge case. The case also
contains the propellant and primer. The sleeve,
or projectile carrier, acts as a gas seal or obtur-
handgun fires up to 20 rounds without reloading

able adapters enable

ammunition.

tridges feed into grip from top
on both sides. Space at top is fir-
ing station. Note double-column
magazine; efficient stacking of
ammunition. Spring follower

der chambers. When trigger is
pulled, round on left moves up to
firing station and is fired.

THE FIRST PRACTICAL APPLICATION
OF THE OPEN-CHAMBER PRINCIPLE
ating device. Upon firing, it moves forward
slightly, seating against the rear face of the
barrel, and expands radially against the interior
of the case, providing gas-tight joints at all sur-
faces. The sleeve is ejected as a unit with the
case after firing. Both items are easily reusable
for reloading.
Loading of the gun is accomplished with utmost
simplicity and ease either on a single round basis
or by mounting the strip-clip on the loading
gate(s) and “stripping” ten rounds of ammuni-
tion into the magazine all at once. The feed on
Series 2000 is accomplished through the use of
a double-column magazine. Each column is
loaded individually from the top loading gates
on each side of the gun. As the cylinder turns
clockwise, ejection occurs on the right-hand side.
Hence, the right-hand column will feed first.
When that is empty the left-hand column begins
to feed without any interruption. Due to the
triangular shape of the cartridge case, no jams
can occur, no matter how the cartridges are
positioned.
The DARDICK gun cylinder has three open

cover), an easily-concealed,
pocket-size weapon that is ideal
for “from-the-hip” shooting. Dia-

gle-column magazine. Gun uses

gun combines a double
recesses, and rotates clockwise. It is mounted in
a frame which also carries the barrel. On each
pull of the trigger the cylinder rotates 120
degrees and indexes one of the recesses in front
of the barrel.
The DARDICK gun combines a double-action
mechanism with a gas-assist which uses the gas
force of a fired cartridge to reduce the trigger
pull to the vanishing point without impairing
the innate safety of the gun.
UNLESS THE HAMMER IS COCKED,
THERE IS NO NEED FOR HAVING
A LIVE CARTRIDGE IN FRONT OF
THE BARREL, YET THE GUN IS AL-
WAYS READY FOR INSTANT USE AT
THE FIRST PULL OF THE TRIGGER.
Series 1100 and 1500 contain a single column
magazine, loaded from the left-hand side only.

This diagram (left) shows the DARDICK Gun Cylinder. It
has three open-recesses and rotates clockwise. Chamber
(Figure 1) is being loaded and moves 120 degrees into firing
station (Figure 2) where it is fired and moves on (Figure 3)
for ejection. The double-action mechanism with gas assist
uses the gas force of fired cartridge to diminish trigger pull.
This DARDICK Series 1100 is a smaller, 11-shot
version of the Series 1500. By use of the same
caliber quick-change barrels, it can fire the same
kinds of DARDICK Special or conventional .38
and .22 caliber ammunition, converts easily into
same light-weight rifle assembly. Note the
single-column magazine in diagram (right).
action mechanism with a gas assist
ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGES OF THE
OPEN-CHAMBER SYSTEM: Much greater
magazine capacity for any given weight and size.
Series 2000-20 rounds; Series 1500-15 rounds;
Series 1100-11 rounds.
Much greater reliability through simplicity of
design. The absence of reciprocating chamber-
ing action eliminates jamming. In case of mis-
fire, a pull of the trigger ejects defective car-
tridge, fires new one.
Ability to fire instantly, even in process of reload-
ing. Gun is loaded through top loading gates.
Ability to load either single cartridges, or entire
magazine through the use of a strip-clip.
Changes of caliber by mere change of barrel,
with built-in safety that prevents possibility of
firing .38 caliber ammunition when .22 caliber
barrel is installed.
Ease of cleaning, accomplished without dis-
assembly whatever. Aside from cleaning barrel,
it is only necessary to open side loading gate(s)
to clean cylinder recesses.
Extreme accuracy, because DARDICK design
minimizes projectile deformation, gas leakage
and bullet jump.
EASILY CONVERTED INTO A LIGHT-
WEIGHT RIFLE
By removing the pistol barrel and insert-
ing the basic mechanism into the rifle-
stock assembly, the DARDICK gun is
readily converted into a light-weight rifle,
which complies with all Government regu-
lations.
DARDICK GUNS will soon be available
in series 1100, 1500, and 2000. The hand-
gun, including both barrels, will be priced
under $100. The rifle conversion unit will
sell for under $25. Your dealer will be
alerted within four weeks of initial deliv-
ery. Demonstrations will, of course, be
handled by your dealer, as well as the
DARDICK Corporation, and both will be
available for ammunition. Requests for
low-number guns will be honored.
David Dardick (right), inventor of the DARDICK Hand-
gun, and the DARDICK Open-Chamber System, demon-
strates his gun’s pistol-to-rifle conversion to noted arms
expert Melvin M. Johnson, Jr.
