Country Sampler ।
Three little country samplers - Each is worked on a different aida cloth to allow you to see the variation there is in background colors. The darker the background, the less outlining needed, and the lighter the background, more outlining is needed for contrast.
Good tip for any Project - Try just a couple test samples on different colors of cloth before choosing the right fabric for your finished piece.

Finishing Directions for Collectible House:
Trace the paper mache house shape on tracing paper, cut out and trace onto back of finished needlework. Carefully cut needlework and glue to shape. Trim any raw edges with a precision cut scissors. For a finished look, use Fray-Stop, (#YT05) but this is not necessary.

Using Light Effects Threads: We recommend using a Tapestry Needle Size 24. It is recommended to work with shorter lengths of approx. 12”, to prevent tangling and to avoid fraying. The more the thread is pulled through the fabric, the more “wear and tear" it takes. To thread the needle, take a single strand of Light Effects, fold the strand in half. Then thread folded end through the eye of the needle. Place the thread loop over the point of the needle, and pull firmly to secure the thread at the base of the needle. If your thread becomes tangled while stitching, simply drop the needle and allow the thread to unwind itself. This helps to reduce knotting, too. When working with a combination of Light Effects and Embroidery Floss, you may want to lightly moisten the fibers with a clean, damp sponge. This will help the two thread types to stay together more easily during stitching. Try stitching slowly, and this will allow you to better control the placement and laying of your stitches.
